I’m always being asked by salons and stylists for advice on how to survive as the economy looks increasingly shaky. My advice is to do more than just survive – thrive!  When times are tough, smart salon owners (that are even tougher than the times) understand to look for the opportunities as the industry shakes up.

It’s clear that the economy has an effect on hair salons – and it’s certain that there will be a shakeout between salons that take their business seriously and those that don’t – but that does not mean that you should expect your salon to falter when times look grim. In fact it’s the smart salons that will get the extra business that is leaving the “gloom and doom” salons.
