Cory will fix it – for you!

Before we start, Cory wants you to think about two things:

The techniques adopted by other businesses to grow their teams are not appropriate for salons. Why? Because salons are unique.

He can and will fix your salon to such an extent that you will see your working life evolve from five days behind the chair to four days, to three days, to two days, to one day…to BEACH!

The focus of most salons now is changing, says Cory, from attracting clients to attracting the right staff; from thinking about a marketing plan to thinking about a staffing plan; from focusing just on price to focusing on value; from advertising to creating an online footprint; from being a salon manager to being life manager; and finally, from being an effective machine to being a beautiful symphony – one new staff member can change everything! Getting your team to work as one is a trick you can’t afford to miss.

Here are some tricks that Cory will be sharing with you over the coming year:

For staff:

endbullit.gifShare your vision
endbullit.gifIncorporate your teams’ personal goals
endbullit.gifCreate a changeable system – put this in writing for new hires
endbullit.gifDon’t make unchangeable rules
endbullit.gifUnderstand generation “Y” – those born in the 80s and 90s
endbullit.gifShare expectations – e.g. exactly how much retail do you expect them to sell?
endbullit.gifCreate rewards or explain the negative results of not doing it your way
endbullit.gifCreate a buddying system, matching weak staff with strong
  For clients:

endbullit.gifTreat clients as friends – would you go six weeks without contacting a friend?
endbullit.gifChoose the right words – let them know you think about them even when they’re not paying with phrases such as: “Here’s a haircut I saw in Elle magazine, it made me think of you.”
endbullit.gifMake follow-up calls to clients, but make them from the salon, not just from the stylist. If the stylist leaves, you don’t want the client to leave too
endbullit.gifDon’t put clients with the slowest clients – ensure the best stylist gets the new client

So, from Cory and Salon-Smart.net, we don’t just wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year, we guarantee it!
