Work it baby!
Be clever with colour
In modern salons, technical preparation areas can be located on the
salon floor, as mixing colours in front of the client includes them in
all aspects of the professional application. However, if you choose
this route, the design must use materials that will not stain or
corrode and the area should be kept neat and tidy at all times. The
distance between the styling station centres is a question of space
maximisation; we work on approximately 2m centres.
Consider the sell-by date
Interior design is a matter of personal taste and a reflection of the
salon’s philosophy. A well-designed interior should last a minimum of
seven years, so the more ‘cutting edge’ the design, the quicker it will
date. Consider a contemporary and classic approach that will have a
longer appeal factor. Invest in a great floor and choose free-standing
pieces of furniture, as they can be moved and don’t collect dirt as
easily.
Remember, design is usually borne out of necessity, so think carefully about your intentions in your space!
