Get a training plan

Chris Moody explains how a training plan provides a clear career path for staff – and can prevent them from leaving!

trainingaug.jpg One of the major reasons for employees leaving a place of work is cited as a lack of progression and/or prospects. A training plan will provide a clear indication of both. Without a training plan, it’s hard to know where people are going, how they’re going to get there and how long it’s going to take.

So, follow these easy steps to get yourself one today!

1) Set out some one-on-one time with each member of the team, including assistants and admin/reception staff if you have them.

2) Agree on a time scale e.g. six, 12 months or two years.

3) Speak openly and honestly about what skills areas are strong and which are not so strong, identify where extra training/coaching is needed.

4) Decide how this can best be delivered – regular weekly/monthly trainings or one off block sessions.
