Merry marketing
Target local businesses
If your salon is based in a busy business district, take advantage of the abundance of office parties that take place during this period by contacting local offices and inviting groups of work colleagues or friends to come into the salon to get their hair done. As well as ensuring that multiple stylists are kept busy on the same day, it will also add numerous new clients to your database, which could potentially mean more business for the year ahead.
Throw a party
Most people love a good party, so consider planning a pre-Christmas bash at your salon to promote your seasonal services and gifts. Whilst your clients are sipping on a glass of bubbly and enjoying a mince pie, your team can present a mini hair show demonstrating a selection of styles you could create for them during the party season. This will help ensure that when they want to look good for that work ‘do’, they know exactly where to come. It is also the ideal opportunity to make them aware of vouchers and other gifts you have on sale which would make the perfect present for their loved ones.
A time for giving
Christmas is a time for giving, therefore show your clients how much you value their custom during the festive season by offering them a token of appreciation from your salon. Branded gifts such as brushes, pens or mirrors bearing your logo are ideal for doing this. As well as creating goodwill, these cost-effective items also ensure that every time a client brushes their hair, checks their make-up or writes a note, they'll be reminded to give your salon a call.
Christmas cards
Bespoke Christmas cards are also a great way to demonstrate how much you appreciate your clients. You can either have cards designed, printed and then posted, or if you have a database of clients who are happy to be emailed, a personalised e-card can be created. If you include a small token such as voucher to redeem in January, cards work as an effective marketing tool. Having spent their hard earned cash on presents aplenty in December, they'll welcome any savings. A voucher offering £5 off hair services for example, could be just the thing to keep your tills ringing during that sluggish period ensuring that both you and your clients can enjoy a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
